Star Wars Battlefront II is forcing monitor to go into hdr mode

I got Battlefront 2 free from the epic games store yesterday, it's taking a while to install so it's not done yet. My problem is that whenever I open it my monitor turns off for a second and switches into HDR mode. Also my cursor is stuck inside the window and the only way I've found to get out is pressing windows key but that also minimizes the window.

My specs:

Ryzen 5 5600X(Stock cooler)

MSI MPG B550 Gaming Carbon Wifi

RTX 3070 Founders Edition

Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 8x2 3600 Mhz

 

Monitor is Samsung Odyssey G5

I thought there is no way to have Windows automatically switch to HDR without turning it on in Windows on the desktop first......

Well dont worry HDR is a broken mess in Windows. Most people are having issues.

And Nvidia 3000 drivers are also unstable. I would also check bios on your GPU as those are also known to get updates due to bad stability.

 

This generation launch especially everything HDMI 2.1 is a dumpsterfire.

 

 

I would like to know if this is a bug or a feature. I would love to be able to automatically switch to HDR only in games. Without having to go to Windwos settings.

I had the same issue.

To turn off automatic HDR switch when playing battlefront: 

1. Launch game

2. Options

3. Video Options

4. Change "High Dynamic Range" from "Auto" to "OFF"
