Manjaro Linux CPU Performance Mode?

cpupower frequency-set -g performance

Its important to note, if you have an Intel Laptop running a Sandy Bridge or newer CPU this might not do anything since these CPUs have their own driver package to handle Power States. Unfortunately I'm not familiar enough with Manjaro to know the specifics.

Main Rig:-

Ryzen 7 3800X | Asus ROG Strix X570-F Gaming | 16GB Team Group Dark Pro 3600Mhz | Corsair MP600 1TB PCIe Gen 4 | Sapphire 5700 XT Pulse | Corsair H115i Platinum | WD Black 1TB | WD Green 4TB | EVGA SuperNOVA G3 650W | Asus TUF GT501 | Samsung C27HG70 1440p 144hz HDR FreeSync 2 | Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS |

Server:-

Intel NUC running Server 2019 + Synology DSM218+ with 2 x 4TB Toshiba NAS Ready HDDs (RAID0)

I tested switching to performance governor on my i5-8250u. It does make a difference (I compared the speed of matrix multiplication in numpy before and after switching).

How to set CPU Performance Mode in Manjaro Linux?

I would consider using the gamemode utility made by feral.

https://github.com/FeralInteractive/gamemode

This allows to switch the CPU to performance only when running a given app, so the usual power saving and such remains intact (when the app is not running of course).
