Hi,

Since today my windows will not boot correctly. It boots till the login screen, but it won’t show my wallpaper. Just this static windows color and all of the icons at the bottom right won’t work. Is anyone familiar with this issue? I’ve tried booting in safe mode through various options but none seem to work. I really need my computer for work and can’t do anything atm.

You need to get into recovery mode. To do this power on the PC, as soon as you see the spinning circle hard power it off by either holding the power button down for 4 seconds or just flip the PSU switch (you need the power to cut while the circle is still spinning, if you see Windows its too late). Repeat the exact same process process again. Boot for a third time and Windows should automatically boot to recovery mode. From there run System Restore and jump back to a point where you know it was working.
