So a while ago I had this problem where amd radeon software wouldn't open no matter what, the drivers were working, just the menu wasn't, the way I fixed it was by installing a way older driver version, and then updating to a newer one.

And now I got the same problem, have no clue what caused it, as it just happened some day when I tried to open radeon software, wanted to try to fix this the same way, but the older drivers don't seem to be on the website anymore, I am looking for the older version which software was a lot different, any help, please? Anyone know's how to fix this for good or what causes it?

My specs:

CPU: R3200g

GPU: Rx 590

16 Gb ram ddr4 2666mhz

Asrock motherboard

550w Psu

No, haven't tried that, I tried reinstalling again by uninstalling drivers, restarting pc and then installing again.

DDU removes all trace of the driver from your system including the driver software package. Its much more thorough than uninstalling through Windows.

Alright, gonna give it a shot, brb

Run DDU and the first thing it will do is ask you to reboot to Safe Mode, accept and wait for your system to reboot then run it again, select GPU > AMD and click Clean & Restart. After Windows has rebooted reinstall the latest driver.

While that is maybe technically correct, it also isn't. I DDU'd several times now, also for amd drivers... yet:

Cannot be removed whatsoever, also is persistently running in the background (both programs), I did however stop them from running or even starting (just disabled the corresponding services iirc) and since then it doesn't randomly crash my system anymore either (wasn't hard crashes, more like freezes)

I really like my CPU, but I don't think I'm ever going to install another AMD GPU, their software (also for CPUs however) is a joke and the GPU performance more than underwhelming... not a "hater" it just isn't for me... and while like I said I really like my CPU, the thought of going Intel and things would "just work" is highly enticing for my next CPU "upgrade"...

err, just saying, even DDU can't remove *everything* apparently - and yes both of these AMD softwares were installed with AMD RELIVE drivers... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
