Hey there,

after watching Linus' review of the Acer chromebook, I tought this would be the ideal birthday gift for my father. Problem is, I never really cared for chromebooks so I don't think I can pick the right one myself. He currently uses a crappy netbook and needs a hell of an upgrade. He only uses it for browsing the internet and watching youtube, usually has 2 tabs open and max he ever had was like 5 tabs open, so I don't think he's a power user. Tough he wants his computer to be portable, so the biggest I'd get is 14" and it shoul be fairly light too. He uses a USB 3G modem when there isn't any WiFi available and it needs a program to work, but that probably doesn't work in ChromeOS, but he could probably chang it for a SIM card and put that in there, so he needs 3G support. Lastly, it would be good if the trackpad had the classic right button as that's what he's used to. I would like to ideally spend around €300 but I can go up to €350 if it's worth it.

A little summary of the requirements:

Up to 14"

3G support

Right click button

Here are the options, only those available in Austria (Preis AT listed): http://geizhals.at/?fs=chromebook&in=

I would get a similar one to the one that Linus review, I liked it a lot.

That's probably this: http://geizhals.at/acer-chromebook-c720p-29552g01aww-grau-nx-mkeeg-001-a1070770.html, I'm no sure but I tink it has worse specs than the one Linus reviewed. And yeah, I forgot to ask, is 2GB RAM enough for ChromeOS?

The current computer I'm using has only 3 and runs vista fine. When I have like 3 tabs of FireFox open it uses like 1.2gb, but thats with other random processes. If you could get one with 3gb, it would be a better fit, but not a necessity.
