Dead micro SD card?

Hi all,

 

I was using a 400GB SanDisk micro SD card in my switch. I ran out of space on it at the same time as the battery dying on the switch, and ever since then it has caused the switch to perform incredibly slowly.

I've replaced the card now with a 1TB card, but am trying to rescue and reuse the 400GB card.

 

I've cleaned the partition table using diskpart -clean, but now have a raw volume showing that I cannot delete or format.

I've tried a couple of third party tools, as well as different files systems with no joy.

 

Basic chkdsk and surface tests don't indicate any problems, but I wonder if this thing is likely beyond saving?

 

Any advice appreciated.

Try with https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter/

 

If that doesn't make the card useable, then there's not much to be done.

Warranty I suppose is the last option.

Will give that formatter a go.

Hadn't even thought of warranty. Can't recall when I bought it but will see if still covered.

Formatter was a no go. Warranty appears to be 5 years, so have submitted an RMA.
