PC doesn't take microphone input

I've tried wired headphones into my PC with a splitter, and bluetooth headphones, but my PC doesn't seem to take any audio input. I've tried websites to test my audio input, and it says there is a mic recognized, but there is no sound input registered. Any ideas for how to fix this?

go into setting -> System -> Sound and change the input device
