So I've been recently experiencing some drops in my gpu clock speed for no apparent reason. The weird thing is that when I played a game to test out the clock speed, it was pretty constant, but it would drop sometimes. I have an RX 580 (8GB VRAM) with a 400W power supply. I checked temps to see if it was overheating, but that didn't seem to be the problem as my temperatures were pretty normal. Then I was wondering if it was my power supply, but I don't think it is since I get a more constant experience in my clock speeds while consuming more power. Some data on how I overclocked my card on the adrenaline software: GPU tuning state 7 set to 1400MHz frequency  and 1090mV, VRAM tuning to 2100mV and 1000mV and power limit sent to 30 W. I don't understand what the problem is and I appreciate any help. Also, if you need any more information, I'll try to deliver as soon as possible.

Thanks!

thats normal. if your computer is just idleing, the gpu sees no purpose of running highs speeds because that would just be wasted heat. if you are gaming, and it drops down to idle speeds, i'd be worried.

My rx 480 8GB when idling at 20W the clock speeds drop to 300mhz GPU clock. If it isn't doing anything, it drops to it's most efficient state. It's basically like sprinting in place while waiting in line for the way you have it. The GPU is looking to sit down and wait patiently.
