Hey guys. So I have just switched out my 1080ti, which I watercooled, to a 3080, (that turned up 4 months after I ordered it!) Which I took apart and watercooled.

Here comes the dumb part. In figuring out where my hard tubes would go, I half screwed in some fittings, one being out of sight and I forgot to tighten before testing for leaks. Alas it leaked, I was watching it so it wasn't drastic but 3 or 4 drops went into my PSU (I was bypassing everything on the 24 pin so only the pumps ran). My PSU made a slight pop noise and I immediately turned it off.

I am now leaving the pc to dry out, I'm not too worried if the gpu has some coolant on it as it had no power going through it. Once it's dry (if it got wet) it will be fine.

My question is the PSU, is it safe to plug the other components back in after I accidently got a few drops of coolant in it? Once it's dry of course.

I'd rather not have to buy a new PSU but would much rather buy a new one over screwing the rest of my rig.

Thank you in advance for your replies and I apologize for my stupidity.

either you got lucky, or just be very careful with it going forward.

think something was destroyed inside it, might not have been the worst part of the PSU?

Still it could get worse by time, so if there was an repair shop that would take in an PSU that would be nice just as a check and see what popped.

But like I said, things can get worse and it's good if it "just works".
