My friend claimed the last build as he needs one ASAP and I'm helping him build it so this is the second draft of an all-in-one editing videos and photos, gaming, recording, music production, home media console, and livestreaming.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3bIr7

Question 1: Would I need to bump up the build to a 4930k?

Question 2: If I plan to Watercool, add in fan controllers and plan to SLI in the future would I need a bigger PSU?

Just for clarification: This isn't an all-in-one. It's a tower. This is an all-in-one:

eb44fcb1cca849c0a77b759706b379f3.png

What kind of content is he editing? What for? Programs being used?

The aftermarket thermal paste is unnecessary.

...is the bluray drive really necessary?

1. Unless what he's doing is very heavy and the time saved from project to project to easily make back the extra money spent, it's not worth going with the 4930k.

2. The psu is plenty for all that.

This belongs in the New Builds and Planning section. I'm moving the thread.
Please post in the correct sub-forum in the future.

Wait wait wait. 2133 RAM isn't on the list for supported RAM on the Sabertooth Motherboard or does that not matter?

And would a Sabertooth motherboard and 4770k be good for a build of rendering and 3D design on programs like CADD?

The motherboard has no effect on performance.

Would the 4770k be good for what he needs?

Not sure. I asked several questions that if answered, would help figure out what would be most appropriate but you haven't answered them yet.

He's an architecture major so he would be editing 3D models of buildings and homes. Programs being used...ummm that I don't know but something probably similar to CADD and other 3D programs. Blu-Ray drive is not necessary, but I threw it in if he wanted to watch movies or something.

Oh, he's studying architecture. What he's doing shouldn't be that intensive at all. The 4770k isn't worth the money for what he's doing. He'd be more than fine with a e3-1230v3 or a 4670k. Don't spend money where it's not needed.

What about the peripherals?

Like screens and keyboard/mouse? That I don't know about. I think he's gonna go dual monitor, but not I'm not 100% on that. As for keyboard and mouse I don't know about that either.

I hate to be that dude, but what would you recommend he do? Dual monitors or single monitor and what keyboard/mouse do you recommend?

I was asking about it so we could get everything knocked out together, peripherals and all. Going 2-3 displays really helps for productivity.

I'd recommend something like this: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3cRqp

If he really wants to splurge on gaming and some nice displays that are on sale: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3cRxI

I think the splurge on gaming will be more of the way he wants to go. Thanks for the advice and build help.
