To start off, my main goal with this build is to be able to run the main game I play (Valorant) with enough frames to meet my 240 Hz Monitor on fairly good settings. I also have a fairly old PC currently so I would like this to be a good upgrade so I can continue to use this for the next 4-5 years and be able to play at least on fairly high settings with new games that come out.

I received a lot of parts for Christmas and am looking to complete the build.

Currently, I have these parts:

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3800X 3.9 Ghz 8-Core Processor

Motherboard: ASRock X570 Phantom Gaming 4 ATX AM4 Motherboard

Memory: Patriot Viper Steel 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-4400 CL19 Memory

Storage: Addlink S70 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive

Power Supply: ADATA XPG Core Reactor 850 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply

I also already have a 240 hz Omen Monitor and good accessories.

My first question is how do you rate these parts together and some of these are still in the window of returning so is there any replacements I might want to do.

I'm currently looking to get a 3080 graphics card, but I have been using stock drops and notifications when they restock for weeks now and have not seen a 3080 in my budget (no more than around 800). Also, I have tried researching more about all the types of 3080's and 3070's and while most of what I've seen is you should just get whatever one you can is there anything I should know before buying one type over another. I also know that with the new China tariff stuff the prices are expected to rise a fair bit so I am wondering if I am being too optimistic in getting a 3080 in my price range and I should just settle for a 3070 or if I should continue to wait and see if I can find one. Realistically, I am fine with waiting a month or 2 but I obviously don't want to wait too long.

Also, I have not bought a case yet and was wondering if I should be fine with just picking one from pcpartpicker that says is compatable or if I should avoid some due to some of my parts.

Thank you for any help in advance.

Great choice of components BTW.

For the case, there are many good ones. In the end, it just comes down to. personal preference.

Here are a few that are good:

RGB Cases

Phanteks Eclipse P400A Digital ATX Mid Tower Case

Phanteks Eclipse P360A ATX Mid Tower Case

Cooler Master MasterBox TD500 Mesh w/ Controller ATX Mid Tower Case

Non-RGB Cases

Corsair 4000D Airflow ATX Mid Tower Case

Corsair 275R Airflow ATX Mid Tower Case

Fractal Design Meshify C ATX Mid Tower Case

Have a look and see which you like. of course there are many more, but these are just some known good ones from reputable brands.

As for the Graphics Card, a 3080 will suit the build perfectly, but only if you can find them in stock. I am afraid the only way you are going to get a 3080 or tbh any other GPU is to wait. They will come back in stock at some point, and if you check regularly on different websites or use pcpp, you should eventually get one.
