Hi everyone!

My computer has been experiencing power-outs for some time, and I can't seem to find out why for the life of me.

This is my configuration:

CPU: i5-6500

RAM: 2x HyperX 8GB DDR4

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z170-HD3P

GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650

Storage:

1x Samsung 850 EVO 250GB

1x WDC 1TB 7200RPM

1x Velociraptor 180GB 10000RPM

PSU: Zalman ZM700-LX 700W

The sequence of events is like this: Crash as if it was unplugged then automatically boot back up.

I've tried to troubleshoot it, and it's definitely not high temperature (unless my CPU somehow crashes at <40°C). Updating the drivers on the GPU did alleviate the trouble - even only by a little. My dad hypothesized that the PSU might be to small to power my PC, but it's well sized for it. Could it be some conflict between the parts/drivers or is my PSU straight up beginning to die?

This could potentially and most likely be a PSU issue. It sounds like the PSU overcurrent protection is being triggered. Does it do it completely randomly or just under high load?

It's not completely random, but it happens at kind of unexpected times: While playing one game (DCS World, if it's needed) it happens at the same point during a mission/if I unpause it before all the LODs load, while on another (WoT) it happens when exiting the actual game and entering the menu (it does have a fairly detailed 3d background, though). Also, crashing seemed to happen a bit more rarely since I unplugged the Velociraptor HDD.

check your cabling and make sure no sharp solder points are poking into cables and causing shorts. had that scenario happen to me recently. If you find the shorting area, try and move the cabling away but if it's unavoidable then use some electrical tape and cover the sharp bit to stop it poking through and causing the short

I did redid some cable management about a month ago, the cables looked alright. Crashing occurred both before and after. So, it's likely not that :|

This sounds very alike an overcurrent situation

So, I looked inside the PSU and everything seems to be in order. No blown caps, no smoked parts, no cold joints. How do I get around this issue?

Later EDIT: Could me giving it a thorough dusting have solved the problem?

Laterer EDIT: Still crashes. Even more often.
