So I’m fairly new to pc building. I built my first pc just in March 2020.

i now have a:

case: Coolmaster

CPU: Ryzen 5 1600

GPU: a New Zotac 3060 Ti

Motherboard: asrock b450 pro

Ram: (4 sticks) Viper 3000 mhz 4 GB

power supply: Evga BR 500

so recently I upgraded my GTX 1650 because I wanted to be able to play games at higher FPS and be able to play games like warzone. My pc would crash when playing certain games so I thought it was my GPU. Now uprgraded to my 3060 Ti I noticed that I still had the same crashes even though my games were running better. I had a cpu overlay that had it clocking at 75-85+ degrees then would crash(black screen) turn off.

this was my first forum, so I added a new fan to my pc I current have a case fan in the back, cpu fan, and the new fan in the front as exhaust(pretty side in), I also reapplied thermal paste, and cleaned out the inside of the pc. For about week I was steady under 71 degrees and believed I had fixed the issue, I hopped on tonight to play some dayz and I noticed my tempt was gradually increasing. It got up to 82 degrees and that’s when I decided to exit the game before a crash or overheating happens.

any thoughts on how to fix this? It’s been a struggle start to the new pc life lol.

The best advice I can give you is to change the cooler to a better one. I would recommend a water cooler to get the best efficiency. One good watercooler I know is the CoolerMaster MasterLiquid M120L / M240L (one or two fans). It's not very expensive without being too cheap and it even have RGB.

You can also choose a better air cooler. I would recommend a Noctua Air cooler.

CPUs generally don't throttle until 90, and usually don't just poweroff until 100C if Im not mistaken. What CPU Cooler are you using currently?

Looks like your CPU has a max temp of 95, so it really shouldn't be crashing due to temps in the 80s. (It's still a good idea to try to lower them if you want the CPU to last a long time, but that shouldn't be the reason it's crashing).

What happens when you get a crash? Does your whole PC turn off? Or does the game just close?

I just foresaw the crash was going to happen once my CPU began to heat up in the 80s. Usually it black screens and I have to reset the pc

I was just worried that it was going to. I am running the cooler that came with my Ryzen 5. I can’t remember the exact name of it
