I would like to buy a 3060ti. How would I do this without spending 24 hours a day refreshing pages? How do I beat the bots? Anyone who has bought a newly released graphics card, how did you get yours?

I am not willing to buy from scalpers or for that matter anyone selling a card on ebay etc.

The more I learn, the more I realise I don't actually know anything.

Recommendations: Lian Li 205m (sleek, pretty decent airflow for a non-mesh front panel and cheap), i5-10400f (Ryzen 5 3600 performance, 20% cheaper), Arctic P14 PWM fans, Logitech g305.

You wait until you can find one in stock. You can't be faster than a bot. If that was possible people would not use bots.

ive been waiting for a 3080 since release. I did get a 3080 but I killed it so I need another, My warranty claim seems to be stuck in limbo

That's the problem, it's never in stock. That's why I'm asking how to get one.

Out of curiousity, how did you kill the card?

I got my 3070 using a twitter bot that sends notifications when stuff goes in stock. Just try to be as quick as you can, and have all your payment/shipping information saved in checkout. It's difficult, but not impossible.

Main PC:

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X • Noctua NH-D15 • MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk • 2x8GB G.skill Trident Z Neo 3600MHz CL16 • MSI VENTUS 3X GeForce RTX 3070 OC • Samsung 970 Evo 1TB • Samsung 860 Evo 1TB • Cosair iCUE 465X RGB • Corsair RMx 750W (White)

Peripherals/Other:

ASUS VG27AQ • G PRO K/DA • G502 Hero K/DA • G733 K/DA • G840 K/DA • Oculus Quest 2 • Nintendo Switch (Rev. 2)

Laptop (Dell XPS 13):

Intel Core i7-1195G7 • Intel Iris Xe Graphics • 16GB LPDDR4x 4267MHz • 512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD • 13.4" OLED 3.5K InfinityEdge Display (3456x2160, 400nit, touch).

Got any questions about my system or peripherals? Feel free to tag me (@bellabichon) and I'll be happy to give you my two cents.

PSA: Posting a PCPartPicker list with no explanation isn't helpful for first-time builders :)

Thanks. Having a quick scroll through the account, I didn't notice many 3060 tis, which doesn't really make me much more hopeful.

thats the thing you just need to wait. I got mine from micro center, I was in the store right as they opened and I asked an empoyee if they had any in the back and he said they did and where going to put them out soon, legit a lined formed behind me after people around heard him talking. so they went to the back and handed us in the line the cards lol They only had like 10 or so. So pretty much you need to be lucky.

and how I killed the card was the fans stopped working and they RMA was taking so long and going no where I said fuck it and used the card for as long as I could and it did die.

This was like over a month ago at this point. maybe a bit longer lol.

I am using a second hand 1080 ti so its not a huge deal that I don't have a 3080 I can wait untill the RMA goes though.

Pretty much you have to happen upon a webpage or store that has the cards in stock and check out ASAP.

If only the UK had micro center... I feel like the UK gets 5% of the cards the USA gets, but oh well it is what it is.

If you want you can find a prebuilt with the GPU and buy that then sell the parts to make money back. The prebuilds seem to be in stock more/longer than the card alone.

I had a gaming buddy he told me he did that to get his 3090

I did think of this, but I don't have £1000 to buy the prebuilt (the lowest price prebuilt I have seen with an rtx 3060 ti), so I'm going to have to buy the card by itself.

The more I learn, the more I realise I don't actually know anything.

yes more prebuilts that have some type of the GPUs, although not all of them.

3060ti would be nice, but it's often at similar price to the 3070.

Also so much from partners, while you can maybe only get the FE version in the US. ;(

Hopefully the stock becomes better, but could take quite a while and if they will just get more expensive or not fall in price.
