So I just put together my first pc.

Cpu: Ryzen 5 3600

Gpu: Asus rtx2070

Mobo: AsRock x570

Psu: Gigabyte P850GW

Ram: Gskill trident 3200 cl16

Storage: Samsung 970 evo m.2 and Samsung 860 2.5" ssd

Got everything connected up properly or so I thought. When I try to power it up the fans spin up as usual, but a message pops up saying "power down and connect pcie power forth is gpu."

Anyone ever run into this?

Take your ram out and put it back in. make sure BOTH ends click.

Make sure all cables are connected

Try plugging only 1 monitor if you have more

try plugging video cable into both gpu and motherboard

It's great for planning new builds, getting a reference on where to start, or seeing what you need to play what games.

It also shows what I recommend for upgrading your stuff!

did you double check your pci psu cables are connected to the gpu correctly? how many eps connectors are you using?

I used a 4 and six pin on the gpu side and its a 3 pin on the psu side. All plugged in securely.

I double checked the ram and cables before posting and was using only one monitor.

4 and 6? i thought only 6 and 8 existed. The only gpu cable ive ever known has 6pins and a 2 pin adder. the cpu power shouldnt even fit into the gpu.

see if that 4 pin is really an 8 pin

I'll check that but my gpu takes a 4 and 6.

Ok sorry everyone but the gpu power plug for the psu side was actually hiding in the basement and was actually never plugged in. I feel dumb but the good news is it posted!  So tomorrow I will install windows and hopefully celebrate by putting the side panels on lol.
