What graphics card do I need?

Hi I currently have a multi-monitor set up and was wondering what graphics card I will need in my next build so I can game on all 3 screens.

Link to monitors - PQ27 Pro. Its a 27" 1440p 165Hz capable screen.

Aiming to play between 60 - 120 fps depending on the game.

I was told by local custom PC builders that I would need a 3080 in order to push the number of pixels. Not sure if they were trying to up-sell me on the product or if its really necessary. Would appreciate some advice.

Rest of the build spec in my previous post.

Edit: Games - Satisfactory, Minecraft (want to try with ray tracing), Cyberpunk, Assassins Creed

Workload - CAD modelling (Fusion 360)

Depends on the games you play, but I have a 3070 with a similar monitor and I'm able to reach well over 60-120fps.

Main PC:

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X • Noctua NH-D15 • MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk • 2x8GB G.skill Trident Z Neo 3600MHz CL16 • MSI VENTUS 3X GeForce RTX 3070 OC • Samsung 970 Evo 1TB • Samsung 860 Evo 1TB • Cosair iCUE 465X RGB • Corsair RMx 750W (White)

Peripherals/Other:

ASUS VG27AQ • G PRO K/DA • G502 Hero K/DA • G733 K/DA • G840 K/DA • Oculus Quest 2 • Nintendo Switch (Rev. 2)

Laptop (Dell XPS 13):

Intel Core i7-1195G7 • Intel Iris Xe Graphics • 16GB LPDDR4x 4267MHz • 512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD • 13.4" OLED 3.5K InfinityEdge Display (3456x2160, 400nit, touch).

Got any questions about my system or peripherals? Feel free to tag me (@bellabichon) and I'll be happy to give you my two cents.

PSA: Posting a PCPartPicker list with no explanation isn't helpful for first-time builders :)

hey me again! :D

the 3080 really is what you need. 3070 could work but you might not be able to play on high settings @144fps especially valhalla

It's great for planning new builds, getting a reference on where to start, or seeing what you need to play what games.

It also shows what I recommend for upgrading your stuff!

cpu - ryzen 5 3600

gpu - gtx 1070

ram - (2x8) 3200mhz

ssd - 970 evo plus 500gb

ssd2 - 860 qvo 1tb

mobo - asrock b450m hdv r4.0

psu - evga b5 550w bronze

Hi, I edited my post to include the games I play. Mostly single player open world types. Are you using Nvidia surround to spread the game onto all 3 screens? I've tried using it many years ago but found the software to be a hassle, hoping for other recommendations as well.

Sorry, I meant that I have a single 27" 1440p 165Hz monitor. I can't give any advice on stretching it across your three monitors.

Main PC:

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X • Noctua NH-D15 • MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk • 2x8GB G.skill Trident Z Neo 3600MHz CL16 • MSI VENTUS 3X GeForce RTX 3070 OC • Samsung 970 Evo 1TB • Samsung 860 Evo 1TB • Cosair iCUE 465X RGB • Corsair RMx 750W (White)
