I have a Ryzen 7 3800X, which comes with the specification of 4.4-4.5 GHz boost clock, but mine doesn't jump over 4.1GHz no matter the workload, in Cinebench R20 for example not a single core goes above 4.1GHz, manually overclocking it to 4.4GHz (using Ryzen Master) seems to solve the issue, but only when run in benchmarks, still going around 3.9GHz-4.2GHz at best depending on the game. And the fun fact is it has no reason to not go that fast, as my cooler supports it at 100% 4.4GHz at 75C. What can i do about this? One thing i also find funny is that when going into Ryzen master my CPU's maximum frequency is set to 4.5GHz.

Not all cores may be boosted. If you're using task manager to view clock speed, it will only show an average. Use something like HWmonitor and see if some cores are boosting at a given time.

so the boost clock advertised is the single core boost that will happen during intense single threaded loads (like cinebench single core).

this also only happens at stock. if you do an all core overclock, you'll likely be able to get all cores at 4.2, but boost is disabled so no matter what, it won't go beyond that.

Monitoring the performance from Ryzen master. As i said, not a single core boosts to what it should. Overclocking it to 4.4GHz makes ALL cores get to 4.4GHz in maximum load, but not in games. Overclocking helps little to nothing in games. Screenshot_1.thumb.png.55ce6e62d49c49482900ea9b1b5fb4b8.png
