Ram Messing up pc

So i have a problem, i found out that my games lag and my whole pc lags when i put my ram in dual channel, but when i put them right next to each other my fps goes up and my perfomance overall increases. I want to know why this is happening do i need to get new ram?

I have 16 gb of ram btw

Are they both the same speed, same spd, same everything?

 

Did you ever test the RAM with memtest to make sure it was fully functional at their rated speed?

Yes, my ram was in one order it was 2 sticks of 8 gb . and no ive never done memtest
