I have recently gotten a new case, case fans, and m.2 and once I built all of it, I noticed that the case fans are acting weird and going a bit hard for some reason. I was looking at temps in hwmonitor to see if something was triggering the fans to go harder, but the only thing that is hot (for whatever reason) is TMPIN4. I have no idea what this even is but it is either 79 or 80 Degrees Celsius with a min of 174 and max of 176 C. I've read that it is often a false reading and doesn't matter but I need the fans to quiet down. Hearing them fluctuate over and over again gets frustrating.

Thanks

With your new case and fans were they plugged into the same fan head on the motherboard? Perhaps double-check your fans curves/settings in the BIOS didn't change.

I doubt the fan controller is actually using that reading for any fan speed setting, regardless of whether the value is valid or not. Try another monitoring program like HWInfo64 and see if it has the same odd reading. It might just be a HWMonitor issue, which wouldn't be the first time I've seen that.

I'm pretty sure that's "package nodes" basically the point on your cpu that gets hottest... but I'm not entirely sure... definitely looks like the hottest spot in a pc usually and it can change temps really quickly...

It shows the same on info. I have 2 splitters (1 - 3 fan) both in a chassi fan header.

You did change cases and case fans so it's worth verifying that CPU/GPU temps haven't increased unexpectedly.

If they have increased compared to your previous case and fans they that would explain why the fans are ramping up more now.

What temps do you see while gaming?

Those temps are great so it's unlikely that's the issue.

Have you tried resetting your BIOS fans curves/settings?
