Microsoft Surface Precision Mouse battery level not refreshing

I've had the Surface Precision Mouse for quite some time and it always bothered me that the battery level never updates in the Windows settings (Settings>devices>bluetooth and other devices).

What happens, is the battery level still says 20%, while it suddenly dies. Then when I completely charge it, it still says 20% for a few days, until finally it displays 100%.

Searching for this online, I can only find Microsoft forums saying the battery level is displayed in the "Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center", so I gave that a try. Battery level isn't available in that app, only button customization.

Is there any way to force battery level updates or set the refresh time? Unpairing, rebooting and pairing again still shows 20% after it's fully charged.

 

Currently on Windows 10 1909, further builds aren't allowed on this company laptop.
