hello, I recently got new motherboard cause pins got bent on the old one, But the cpu got a bit damage in the progress. Like a bit bent on the edge (missplace). The holes looks fine or what it called. So my question is can i try and see if the cpu still works or will it damage the socket/pins? cause dont wanna buy a new one if it does work :) the cpu is a i7 8700, So...300$ to waste otherwise, and the motherbord is a h310m pro m2 plus

hmm the bent doesn't seem too serious, picture perspective that is, I would say you can freely put it in the cpu socket, I don't think you'll have a problem but I wanna see what others think after me...

WTH did you do to that CPU. It looks if you clamp it down the retention mechanism might bend a few pins by pushing it down to far. I don't think you should try doing that unless you bend the CPU.

I will recommend an NHu12s (or an NHd15 (maybe)) for your PC build. Quote or @ me @Prodigy_Smit for me to see your replies.

hmm I was thinking the same, in picture perspective it doesn't seem too much (that I would consider it so far safe but it could be just my imagination and you are right instead...

But after I thought about it, I said yeah it most likely won't make contact with the CPU

There nothing wrong trying putting it on motherboard and test it if it boot up on bios. If it did then it works.
