Building a $2500 pc for a friend....

BlazerBuddy

Budget (including currency): $2500

Country: US

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Satisfactory, other future games....

Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc):

Would this be a good $2500 build for a friend? Is this power supply enough for the build, can this motherboard support a 5800x?

The psu is excellent and more than enough capacity. .

You might want to rethink the cpu cooler choice. It is an excellent cooler, however it is not aura sync compatible. As a result it won't be possible to sync all the lighting.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

3080 for a $2500 build? The cpu is almost as expensive as the gpu...

Why not? You can downgrade to a 5600X if you want to spend less. Spending over 3080 price is just plain stupid at this point.

For $2500? 6900xt is better then the 3080, the 3080 goes in a 1500-1800 build. My friend is doing this for gaming so a 5900x seems way overkill.

Id pick 5600X for gaming. 6900XT is nice for 1080p/1440p not really worth it for 4K though. And even that depends on pricing, as here 6900XT is +450€ to 3080.
