Hi all,

I just upgraded my Gpu from a gtx 1080 to an RX 6800, my system specs as follow:

R5 1600

MSI Reference RX 6800

16gb 3000mhz Ram

550w Gold rated psu

I realise my cpu and psu aren't ideal at all.

After playing Warzone and watch dogs 2, my gpu usage seems to hover around 70-80% and my cpu usage 50% and in warzone, 1440p ultra settings I'm "only" getting 80 - 90 fps, in Watch dogs 2, even worse, averaging 50 fps on ultra 1440p settings... These results seem very low considering the gpu's capabilities.

Am I bottlenecked by my cpu, or is this a psu issue?

I'm not that familiar with the Ryzen and the new RX line so this is the only suggestion i can make, have you tried switching your windows Power Settings profile to Performance ? As having this set to anything else is known to cause performance issues in some cases.

That Ryzen 1600 is it the AF or the actual first gen Ryzen 1600. If it is not the AF that processor is probably bottlenecking your new graphics card quite hard. The 550W PSU will be a limiting factor, but it would most likely cause the computer to simply crash or turn off completely under heavy load.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 - 3900x @ 4.4GHz with a Custom Loop | MBO: ASUS Crosshair VI Extreme | RAM: 4x4GB Apacer 2666MHz overclocked to 3933MHz with OCZ Reaper HPC Heatsinks | GPU: PowerColor Red Devil 6900XT | SSDs: Intel 660P 512GB SSD and Intel 660P 1TB SSD | HDD: 2x WD Black 6TB and Seagate Backup Plus 8TB External Drive | PSU: Corsair RM1000i | Case: Cooler Master C700P Black Edition | Build Log: here

Thanks for the reply! The original 1600.
