I've been playing Metro Exodus lately and I'm a little concerned about the temperature of my gpu. I have an Asus ROG Strix 5700xt and I have already seen that it does have some temperature issues. High settings on Metro Exodus, it stays at between 80 to 86 degrees. Is this okay? If not what should I do? Thank you.

it's not as toasty as 90 degress so I would think it's fine, you can get a 1 gram of thermal grizzly kryonaut for cheap and it will keep your gpu around the 70-80 degrees range if you are willing to repaste

I was thinking about repasting and I'm sure it wouldn't be a bad idea. My case is relatively small but my gpu does some decent room. Another option I was thinking about was getting a new case, but I did just build this one and the hassle of pretty much rebuilding would be annoying. My junction temp doesn't usually get above 105 degrees.

My gpu fans are also at a very high speed which makes my computer relatively loud but it doesn't bother me because I always use headphones, but I wish it ran more quiet

i think the ROG Strix gpus have quiet and performance bioses iirc, you could try shutting down and switching to the Quiet bios and see if that makes a difference

It's not good, but not terrible. 83c-84c is where your GPU would start holding itself back aka known as thermal throttling.REALLY bad would be 88c up to 90c and if your gpu hits 95c.You should check your fans to see if they are really spinning, if they are spinning then i would recommend checking your airflow.Even though 80-85c is not good but it's not terrible and you shouldn't really worry about it, unless it increases even more to like 88c of course.

I know some versions of the Asus Strix 5700xts had the wrong sized screws in them that caused the heatsink to sag and not provide proper contact with the GPU.  If your card is recently purchased, this should be a non issue but if your card is 10 months + old then it might be something to look into.  It happened to a friend of mine's card and he had to order the screws from Asus.  Here is a link to the issue: https://www.pcgamer.com/after-overheating-concerns-asus-is-helping-rx-5700-owners-tighten-their-screws/

The article provides the serial numbers of the affected cards so it makes it easy for you to check.
