I was wanting to buy an M.2 drive for my PC and i've never used one before so i would like if someone with more knowledge can tell me if a  - Samsung 2TB 970 EVO Plus M.2 NVMe SSD will go into my motherboard - https://www.asus.com/au/Motherboards/PRIME-Z370-A/specifications/

I can tell from the specs it has an M.2 slot and im pretty sure it will fit size wise im just not sure what the NVMe 1.3 means and if that will affect whether or not it works.

Appreciate any guidance!

Maybe

Your motherboard has M.2 Sata on one slot and PCie on the other  whilst the drive you specified is M.2 NVME

A good read from Ars Technica

That goes through the various M.2 formats

One of the 2 m.2 slots on your motherboard supports nvme, so yes it will work. However, using it will disable the first sata port so if you have anything plugged in there, it needs to be moved.

I am far from an expert in this so please correct me if I’m wrong.
