Curious if a RTX 3080 will be smart for 3840x1080 144Hz

NTDaws

I'm currently setting up a parts list for a customers build that will be done over the summer. So far the specs are a RTX 3080 and a i7 10700k with a 850 watt power supply, may downgrade to 750 Watt if the system can handle it.

Anyways the customer will be gaming on a 49" Samsung 3840 x 1080 144Hz monitor. A big ultrawide. Will the customer be able to hit above 120Hz in most games without issue? Or should I upgrade him to a 3090 if possible?

Thanks.

It requires slightly more graphical power than 2560x1440, so yes it should be possible. But not in the latest Cyberpunk 2077 or Flight Simulator 2020 though.

Im guessing he will be playing games like GTA 5, Minecraft, Call of Duty, Rainbow Six, Probably Cyberpunk. Etc.
