Other details

i5-10600K, ASUS PRIME Z490-A, and some other stuff but mainly i'm confused about the memory. Newegg recommends G.SKILL Ripjaws V Series 16GB 4000 ($129) because of the Z490 chipset on the mobo, so can only this memory work? Would I have issues if I get some other type of memory, for example G.SKILL Trident series? For the G.SKILL is just say for "high performance" gaming.

hold on a sec.. have you considered the 5600x cpu instead? if you still want the 10600k then its your choice.

honestly going for 4000mhz on 10600k is not worth it at all. you are just wasting money at that point. you are much better off going with 3600 with tighter/better timings. running lower frequencies is also going to be much more reliable as not all cpu's will work well with ultra high frequencies like 4000.

I have made a list of RAM that is sorted by lowest latency (fastest at the top, slowest at the bottom).
