Tips on my first time build?

crcrcrain

Heres what I have so far:

I've always been a console player so this is my first time branching out, I know pretty much nothing about building a PC so i'm not sure if what I have is pointless & overly expensive or if I need to spend even more to get it where I want it. I essensially want this to be as good as if not better than the new PS5/XSX without spending an absolute fortune, my initial budget was £850 & i'd still like to get it down to this if possible but finding a GPU thats reasonably priced & available in the UK has been a real task.

Specifically I want to be able to run Warzone at 120+ fps (cap at 144 as my monitor is only 144Hz so no need to go for more than that right now) at 1080p as thats also all my monitor can support. The monitor I own already is a benq XL2411P if thats important at all. Aside from Warzone, I mainly play first person shooters like COD & Apex, but of course i'd like it to perform strongly with pretty much any game.

Any advice would be great, I have been wondering if there's a way to get the price down while maintaining the specs I mentioned above (if this would even reach those?). I initially had a less expensive motherboard but I was advised to upgrade to a b550 as it leaves more room for upgrading in the future. As for everything else i've pretty much put it together myself without any real knowledge on why I'm picking the componants I am honestly.

Thanks for reading!

TLDR:
Can this system run Warzone at 120-144fps consistently?
Is this an appropriate price for what I've built?

Will this equal/outperform the PS5/XSX?

5600XT for  437 pounds its for sure not a great deal.

(its 500$ / 480€ for a midrange card)

couple things

1. obligatory - pick a better PSU from tier B or above use the psu tier list

2. Can this system run Warzone at 120-144fps consistently?  at 1080 and if you monkey with the settings a bit - yes definitely

3. Is this an appropriate price for what I've built? seems a bit expensive to me at $1670 CAD and $1300USD

I would wait and get a 3060ti or 3070 instead of the 5600xt - the new models are similar price point and much better

4. Will this equal/outperform the PS5/XSX? yes it should

i7-8700k @ 4.8Ghz | EVGA CLC 280mm | Aorus Z370 Gaming 5 | 16GB G-Skill DDR4-3000 C15 | EVGA RTX 2080 | Corsair RM650x | NZXT S340 Elite | Zowie XL2730

Most of those parts are great!

1:

EVGA BQ line is not the best, I would stay away.

2:

144FPS might be a bit  much. If you are playing at 1080p mid-high settings it should be fine.

3:

You need a case ;)

If you are going for a £1000 build, this would be better:

I'll definitely look into the power supply, thanks alot

As for the GPU, do you think  the Sapphire Nitro+ Radeon Rx 5700 XT 8G would fit the bill? I have one available for a pretty good price compared to the 5600xt I listed before

Thank you so much, completely forgot about a case!

I think i'll look into a better deal for the video card, but aside from that your build looks much more professional than mine, thanks alot again

the 5700xt is in the same ballpark as a 3060ti - the above video benchmarks and compares alot of mid range graphics cards against the 3060ti - especially the 5700xt.

I would give it a watch and see what you think - its pretty difficult to get a 3060ti right now due to stock issues

edit: you know the other thing that noone mentions is that Nvidia cards have much better driver and game support than AMD cards and are supported with updates for longer periods of time and have better software like geforce experience etc - something to consider

Cant find any 3060ti's at all in the UK. Even finding 5700xt is difficult, but I have one on ebay thats £272 (gdp) vs all the others being near £500. I'm wondering why this one is so much more reasonably priced but the seller has good reputation, do you think I should take the plunge on that? I can always wait for a better card but I dont know how long my original Xbox one is going to last at this rate.
