So I just recently got the 5900x and the Asus TUF B550 Gaming Plus and upgraded my power supply from, 750w -> 850w (i know this isnt that much but it made me feel a lot more comfortable and its the biggest size that was available to me). After installing everything and making sure all my games and stuff are installed still so I of course play cyberpunk, but after about 20 play my pc made a random usb disconnecting sound and about 5 seconds later my game crashed and i wasnt able to get into task manager or anything so I had to reset. When i tried again, it did the same thing, just without the disconnecting noise. So after resetting again I let combustor run for about 15 mins and once again, it froze. If I try to do anything demanding it seems like it will just freeze after awhile. it always freezes on the screen that its on. never auto- restarts or black screen or anything like that.

So i've tried Re-seating the ram, re-seating graphics card, making sure all my 8 pin connectors are plugged into the gpu and the psu, checked thermals and nothing is spiking or going crazy, tried re-rolling the gpu driver, i read a thing that said you could underclock your gpu to make it more stable (10%).

Idk what else to do from here. It worked fine on my previous build so I don think It could be the gpu. Could it be the power supply by chance? Any help at all is appreciated. I don't live in America and i don't know very many people where I live that like computers as much as I do so I don't have any help locally.

Is the bios on newest version? B550 advertised drop in compatibility for 5xxx series but it’s often only partially true.

Not a pro, not even very good.  I’m just old and have time currently.  Assuming I know a lot about computers can be a mistake.

Life is like a bowl of chocolates: there are all these little crinkly paper cups everywhere.
