So I'm trying to reseat the RAM, and have to remove the cpu cooler for it since i use the dark rock pro 4. To remove it i have to remove one of the fans that are in the middle of the cooler to be able to screw it of the bracket. And to remove the fan i have to remove the gpu (rx 6800) which is dead close to the cpu cooler, to remove this i have to unseat"" it from it's pcie slot with the lever thingy on the motherboard(x570 tuf gaming) right? But that's legit being covered by fan in the cpu cooler that i have to remove, HOW do i remove the GPU???

I've already tried to take something long and push the thingy down but it doesn't give in and I'm unsure how much violence is required...

HELP!

I usually use a screwdriver to get there while slowly pulling the gpu out but be VERY careful, as a slip can easily happen and might damage your motherboard, cpu cooler or back of your gpu. How much room is there between your gpu and cpu cooler? Got a picture?

I own a DRP3 and face the same issue

What I do is I pull the GPU up by a bit on the rear io side first, then I use a flat head screwdriver to press down on the pcie lock

Be careful, do not slip, slowly press down and unlock the GPU

Then gently pull it out

The reason I pull the rear io side up first is because if you unlock the slot and pull the rear io side, it'll tilt the card and it'll lock back in, so loosen the rear io side first

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

Ran into that problem a couple times, ended up dremeling the locking tab off the card I was using since it isn't vital to operation (screwed into case pcie bracket junk so it's not leaving the slot anyway)

If you have a plastic pry tool long enough to reach the release latch that would be a better tool than anything metal (metal works if you don't have plastic, just have to be much more careful)

No pic, gonna try and put it back together, but i'd say perhaps 10-14mm gap, large enough for things to slide down in. But the lock mechanism is only visible as a 2-6mm small slide in this gap...

I'll try with a screwdriver a bit more but i don't want to risk damage... Thanks for the input!

Update- I managed to lift the gpu after some tweking, not sure how safe this was or what i damage during the process. But it's loose, For those with the same problem I'd say a little bit of a wigle in it's slot is always helpful. Gonna check in after everything is back in place with whats broken.....
