Buy an SSD or keep my 7200RPM HDD for games?

Renton577

So I'm not really sure what to do, there is an MX500 SSD on sale for $90 but I already have a 7200RPM hard drive for my games with a decent sized cache on the drive. Should I just keep it, capacity wise it would only be a jump from 750GB to 1TB anyway.

I would personally buy an ssd, it will save you from quite a bit of loading. Keep the hard drive if possible, though, to save games you don't play often, along with other files you use less often. If you are on a tight budget, buy a 240gb ssd (With cache) and a hard drive.

please tag me for a response, It's really hard to keep tabs on every thread I reply to. thanks!!

Just get the new drive but don't toss the old one away. They're both rather small drives so even more reason to keep them both.

For 90 about bucks you can buy a 4 gig HHD or a 2 tb hhd and 500 gig ssd  Then use your old 1 tb for other storage and the swap file.  I did this with all my computers

1 ssd OS

1 HHD Swap file and storage

1 HHD for Other

1 HHD games

My configs depends on the computer but a basic set of mine.

My mains are

TV/VR

1 1tb SSD OS

1 1tb swap file and storage

1 4tb HHD gaming

1 2TB ssd for vr games

1 2tb for cad/storage

True main

1 256 ssd os

1 2 tb HHD swap with a 8k file paging format so register as a SSD

1 2 tb hhd cad and storage

1 4 tb hdd non vr games

1 4 vr hdd for vr only

I have never seen a performance hit on my computer for moving my swap file other then it wear out SSD less making it last longer.  HHD are realably take rewrites from swap file alot better.

Linus I WANT SEE WHAT YOU HAVE SAY ABOUT MY CONFIG FOR MY STORAGES!!!!
