Mic is using internal audio problem

So first, I'm new here on the forums, so I don't know if I'm right here with my post :)

So the problem I've been having is that on discord or in game chat, my mic picks up the output audio of my pc. How am I so sure of that? Well my friends are complaining, and when in discord, you can test your mic. When i do that, I can talk no problem. But when i say nothing and there is music playing or a youtube video, it still picks that up as input.

If someone has had this problem, or knows how to fix it, it would make my quarantine life better haha

and if you need more info or examples, hit me up!

thanks alot :)

Based on what you're telling here I suspect you mean the Microphone not so much 'records' the pc audio, but the channel just 'transmits' it directly from the system?

If that is the case you might try the following and see if that solves your issue:

Right click on your audio icon on taskbar --> recording devices --> select device and hit properties --> go to the listen tab and make sure "Listen to this device" is not checked.

Furthermore, in the advanced tab, you should check if both items present are checked for exclusive mode.
