Can you mix different brand RAM of the same speed?

Pretty much the title.

 

For example, I have G.Skill Ripjaws 2x8 3600 cl16, can I mix that with the same speed Crucial Ballistic?

Theoretically, yes, but RAM compatibility can be pretty inconsistent. I'd say go for it, but make sure you're buying from a retailer with a good return policy.

Thanks for the info. Also, how do you get your build to display under your post like that? Did you just enter it into your signature or is there a way to do it automatically?
