Everything was working fine. I put in a new 3090 but PC failed to post with mbb error 00. Mbb is ASUS Maximus VIII Gene with an 6700k.

  1. So reintsalled old GPU, same error.
  2. Checked power cables, RAM, CPU and CPU cooler.
  3. Took everything out of the case and reinstalled things in one at a time (motherboard, CPU, RAM, power etc). Still same error.

Please help, I am desperate to get this working agin before Xmas.

Do you have another PC board to test your RAM, GPU or CPU? Or all of them?

But now, fellow gamers, that was it for me. Please keep in mind, that this is just my personal opionion and I am no expert. Your system shall be cooled forever, see you next time.

No spare parts or anything else. This is my only PC.

Ok. So  ASUS says, error code 00 can mean dead RAM, dead CPU or a dead board (I know this isn't very restrictive, but this is what ASUS said). So if both GP's don't work, it has to be RAM, CPU or the board itself. So, if you didn't take out or change the CPU or RAM and it worked before, it may be (and this is just speculation!!) a dead PCIe slot. Is there any possibility that you damaged the PCIe slot while switching GPUs? This would also explain why neither GPU works now.

Ok, I did try without anything in the PCIe slot, but still the same error. Should that work?

I think it should work, if you used the board graphics output or if you try another PCIe slot... If this does not work, I don't have any idea why your board shows this error code and your PC doesn't post, I am sorry about that :(
