3.5mm audio jack randomly won't go over like 50% loudness anymore..

I switched to a usb headset for a day and when i switched back to my original 3.5mm jack headset.. it won't get loud anymore. the headphones are fine they go max loudness on my phone. so they arent broken. ive reinstalled drivers and everything. what are the chances i literally blew a fuse or something? they sound like they are at about 50% loudness when turned ALL THE way up.. Is there anyway to test such a thing? Or did I just blow my audio jacks by switching over to usb ports. making no sense to me at all. thanks.
