Can you upgrade the RAM on a MacBook Air early 2020?

Can you upgrade the RAM on a MacBook Air 2020 running intel? My machine only has 8GB and I have heard apple solders its components to the motherboard. If there is a way, how risky is it to do?

My Laptop: A MacBook Air

My Desktop: Don’t have one

My Phone: An Honor 8s (although I don’t recommend it)

My Favourite OS: Linux

My Console: A Regular PS4

My Tablet: A Huawei Mediapad m5

Soldered in.

If you have questions about mac upgrades, feel free to google search some iFixit teardowns. They're super useful.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Nope, everything is soldered so can’t be upgraded.

I looked at the ifixit teardown. Man, Macs are really unrepairable

They used to not be :(
My Power Mac G4 has a handle on the side to get access to everything inside. All you need is a Philips-head screwdriver and some patience and you can remove everything except the PSU.

I liked the look of the old ibooks, they looked so colourful! And they are more upgradeable than the current Macbooks img_1321-jpg.603811

They’re ultra books they’re pretty much all the same. 16GB of RAM on an air shouldn’t really be needed either

They’re just klevo? I think it’s spelled rebranded laptops with Linux installed. They’re nothing special. Just cheap laptops with Linux.

To be fair, System76 does pretty thorough validation on their systems to ensure that the drivers, etc. are all stable, and I believe they use a custom open-source UEFI of some kind as well.

I believe System76 design the laptops. (EDIT: I stand corrected, System76 and Tuxedo both source these chassis from clevo
