Wifi card

I just got a new laptop but the internet speeds that i am getting are bad, but my dads old laptop gets good speeds there. Will swapping out the wifi card make difference?

Mine:Thinkpad e495

Other:Hp elitebook 840 g2 

Mine:10mbps

Other:15-20mbps

What card does it have now? those have pretty good cards included I think.

 

Try testing wired speeds.

 

I don't think upgrading the card will help much, it seems like a issue with how wifi is setup or a os issue
