Budget (including currency):  go nuts this is more of a goal work to not for now

Country:  united states

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for:  abelton live and adobe apps

Other details (existing parts lists, whethare needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): yes i just want something to look for in the future/ what audio editing needs from a computer

CPU: Ryzen Threadripper 5999X (128C, 256T 3GHz-4.1GHz sTRX5)

CPU Cooler: Custom water cooling because the TR 5990X has a TDP of 500W

Motherboard: Asus Zenith III Extreme (still supports DDR4, don't worry)

Memory: 2x Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 128GB (4x32GB) DDR4-4000 CL18

Graphics Cards: 2x RTX 3090 FE + RTX 3090 SLI bridge

Storage: 5x Samsung 980 Pro 1TB

In case this PSU isn't enough, get a second 2000G+ and dedicate it just to the GPUs. Don't worry, the Zenith III Extreme has 2 24-pin connectors for two power supplies.

Huh, this would actually work fairly well lol.

 

Ableton tends to enjoy lots of fast CPU cores, so the CPU fits well. If it was slower clocks, then maybe not.

 

Obviously the GPU horsepower is not needed at all, but why not?

Mini DSP SHD Studio -> 2x Mola Mola Tambaqui DAC's (fed by AES/EBU, one feeds the left sub and main, the other feeds the right side) -> 2x Neumann KH420 + 2x Neumann KH870

 

(Having a totally seperate DAC for each channel is game changing for sound quality)

In all seriousness OP, the PC on my profile is excellent for audio work. I make a living from mixing/mastering, and use this PC daily for everything. It's GPU and CPU is last gen now, but still works a treat.

The Blu-Ray drive

PCPP didn't have optical drives :(

 

I made up for it by using 900g of thermal paste though.
