I have an MSI Ventus 3080 on order (Probably looking at March the way things are going before i get it) I was wondering if my current system would be a bottleneck for the new card if it is i was going to upgrade with AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Hardware Bundle LN111980 - BN550R5H100I | SCAN UK

Not sure why you want to upgrade, your machine should play any AAA title, including Cyberpunk, easily.

 

What's your basis?  Is something wrong?  Or just more FOMO?

Just upgrading for upgrades sake, haven't upgraded for a while plus i can give my old stuff to a family member who needs it.

Mate, NEVER upgrade for upgrade's sake. It's stupid as shit. Always wait until you have a need to upgrade. You never know what will happen tomorrow. Maybe your house burns down and you need every penny? Try to be more reasonable. I suggest you go and watch every video GamersNexus has ever made as he always tries to teach his viewers some rationality.

Ah now that is a reasonable answer and put so politely. I will consider it. So will my current system run cyberpunk 2077 just as an example at 1440p with all the eye candy enabled? And I also wanted to run the new flight simulator.

The current version that was benched has DRM enabled so it is impossible to say how it will run.

You can see the reviewer benchmarks here to get an estimate but until the consumer version comes out and gets benchmarked you won't know for sure. Apparently the dev is also working on a day 1 patch that will greatly improve RT performance.

He doesn't have RT, he has a 8700K + 1080TI combo.  Which will run the game fine on High.  Ultra?  Probably not, as the game was dezigned for up to 8k screens.

Yeah just read the link thanks. Looks like just the gpu needs upgrading if I want all the fancy shit, but at least i don't have to buy the other components. Thank you both for your input
