Assuming you're talking from a gaming perspective, the two of your listed chips will trade blows fairly competitively relative to what the engine is geared towards. 3100 will be better at single-core workloads, 2600 will be better multi-core.

That said, you also need to consider stock. 3100's were never made very widely available, it's not often that I've seen them in stock. When I have, they're usually well above MSRP, they tend to come in at right about $190 USD)

Don't tell me you already ordered the parts. This list is much better and will perform better in games

i think i will stick with the 3100 since a can buy one in the netherlands for cheaper and as you said its better for gaming

Some games, not all. The one that's performing better will depend on what the engine is capable of utilizing.
We're in a slow shift where we're going to start seeing multiple cores being utilized by games as we move on from 4c/8t being the norm.
