Skype Freeze

Hey guys,

I have had an issue with skype for a couple months now. So far it has been annoying but still bearable, but now it has become nearly useless. Basically every time I want to use switch from any program to skype it freezes, gets that nice white overlay and loads for about 30 seconds before I can actually use it. Same happens when I want to call someone or accept a call. Now I can also only hear the other person while my mic stops working and I cannot access chat.

I don't think it is a hardware issue as all other programs run fine. I have noticed some CPU usage spikes during those freezes. some cores' load is up to 80% others around 5%. I already reset the appdata after reinstalling the program.

 

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

So I just cleaned out the regestry and reinstalled it on a diffrent drive just to be sure. Of course, that did nothing

do a clean install of skype? remove it reboot then install latest version again? then reboot again after that and do a windows update.
