I’ve been experiencing FPS drops on Valorant.

The game runs at about 140-150 FPS (I capped it at 150), but it’ll frequently drop to 90-100, causing stutters that interfere with my gameplay. According to the game’s website, you need an i3-4150 and a GTX 1050ti to maintain 144+ FPS, and my pc has a Ryzen 7 2700, PowerColor RX 580 (8GB) and 16GB of 2666MHz RAM overclocked to 3000 (CL16)

A user on r/valorant told me that his pc with the same specs gets 250FPS, so I figured something must be wrong with my PC. I overclocked my RAM as some advised, the drops seem to be less frequent, but they still happen.

What could be causing this? I monitored the temps and components usage during a deathmatch, and noticed that, while both the GPU and CPU were at 55-60ºC, my GPU usage would go from 2% to 99% in a matter of seconds, even when there wasn’t a lot of action going on, while my CPU would be stable at around 20%.

Two quick things:
1. This post is short medium, not long.

2. Do you really believe everything you hear on the Internet?

Back on topic.

Do you have another GPU to test, maybe from a friend or something?
It probably isn't a faulty GPU, but we should rule it out.

PLEASE STOP [Killing] ME I WILL GIVE Y OU ANOTHER DEAL.

I've seen people saying that they get constant 150+ FPS with similar rigs on multiple posts, although i can't find a recent benchmark or something like that.
I don't have a spare GPU, is there any tests we could do to rule it out?

The GPU usage is typical of AMD gpu to jump around like that

As for your fps, many factors

Background tasks, game settings and scene

I would check these two

Your can also try DDU and reinstalling your graphic drivers, see if it helps

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately
