Budget (including currency): $2000-$2300(CAD)

Country: Canada

Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Mainly gaming, looking to run most popular games and triple A titles

I sort of worked out my build on pcpartpicker. Sort of concerned about the AIO to be honest because I always hear stories about leakage and whatnot. Is this AIO reliable? Any advice to make this build better would be appreciated!

It's not a bad AIO, but it's a bit on the pricier end for the performance you're getting. The H100i RGB PRO XT is cheaper, and will give you pretty much the same performance. The only other criticism I have of your build is the motherboard. It's a good board, but it's a bit overkill for your CPU. Something like the Gigabyte B550 AORUS PRO AC is better value.

Main PC:

AMD Ryzen 7 5800X • Noctua NH-D15 • MSI MAG B550 Tomahawk • 2x8GB G.skill Trident Z Neo 3600MHz CL16 • MSI VENTUS 3X GeForce RTX 3070 OC • Samsung 970 Evo 1TB • Samsung 860 Evo 1TB • Cosair iCUE 465X RGB • Corsair RMx 750W (White)

Peripherals/Other:

ASUS VG27AQ • G PRO K/DA • G502 Hero K/DA • G733 K/DA • G840 K/DA • Oculus Quest 2 • Nintendo Switch (Rev. 2)

Laptop (Dell XPS 13):

Intel Core i7-1195G7 • Intel Iris Xe Graphics • 16GB LPDDR4x 4267MHz • 512GB M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD • 13.4" OLED 3.5K InfinityEdge Display (3456x2160, 400nit, touch).

Got any questions about my system or peripherals? Feel free to tag me (@bellabichon) and I'll be happy to give you my two cents.

PSA: Posting a PCPartPicker list with no explanation isn't helpful for first-time builders :)

Only reason I went with my current AIO cause it was on sale at bestbuy for the same price. And for the motherboard I wanted something with wifi but it does seem a little pricey. I'll check out yours thanks! How is the build otherwise?

Thank you, but I think that's in USD.

The only gripe I see is the Ryzen 5600x. Just my opinion, but it’s pricey for what you get. I’d be hard pressed to pay $300 for a 6c processor. But, not much better out there. So it is what it is. I would try to swing the 5800x or wait for the 5700x to come out or the 5600 non x to come out.

Really? I heard the 5800x isn't worth it for the price and everyone always speaks highly of the 5600x. I'm not looking at doing any content creation or editing, just gaming. Is it really worth getting the 5800x for extra ~$200(CAD)?

As I said, I’ll admit, there isn’t much better choice for $300. For me, 6 cores for gaming has been a thing for a few years now. There’s already some games that will advantage more cores, I feel that list will only grow. The 5600x isn’t a bad chip, I just don’t think it’s worth $300. The 3600 was as low as $160. Is the 5600x worth twice the price?  Absolutely not. Rock and a hard place. I don’t think it’s worth it, but there’s not much better.

I’d even buy an i9 9900k first. It was $319 not long ago, the 9900kf is still $349, it’s about the same single core performance as the 5600x, but has 8c/16t. In my mind, probably better than the Ryzen 5600x in most ways.

Fair enough. I'm still on waiting list for 5600x so I have considered other CPUS. I'm currently looking at the 3700x. Given that I'm only looking to game, do you think its worth it to go with previous gen?

Just wanted to revisit this conversation. I was going through Digital Foundry’s Cyberpunk 2077 Optimization guide. They found using a 10900k, the game was utilizing all 20 threads evenly. Testing with the 6C/12T Ryzen 3600 showed that CPU was not up to the task. It really struggled. Would another 20% ipc gain of the 5600 make that much of a difference?  Given the core utilization, probably not that much. Cyberpunk is a beast to run, but as time goes on there will be more and more games like it. It just seems unwise to buy a 6C/12T processor today if your plan is to play AAA games for the next 2 years. I personally feel 8C/12T is the new minimum for AAA gaming. Me personally, I would buy a 3700x or a 3800x over a 5600x. Clearly a 5800x would be ideal, but it’s very expensive.
