So I am having an issue with some new ram I have recently bought and am not sure how to fix it. So basically I am unable to use the XMP profile because there is what I think appears to be some voltage issue. On my motherboard where the ram would go it has little text written on it that says "1.2V" and in the BIOS when I try to use the XMP profile it wants to use 1.35V. Whenever I go above the 1.2V the text in the BIOS turns red and if I try to exit and save my settings the PC will turn on, but there will be no post. I have also tried to set the overclocking mode to manual, but this didn't do anything as I still got the same results. Another thing I tried was updating the BIOS, but that didn't seem to help either. Whenever this happens, I have to take out the CMOS battery and then everything is up and running again. I managed to get the speed running at 3200Mhz, but my timings are not ideal so I would really just prefer to use the XMP profile if I can find a way. The ram I am using is XPG Spectrix D41 RGB and the motherboard is ASRock B450M Steel Legend.

What CPU is this? 1.35v memory is totally fine, ignore the red.

Try lower frequency of memory then, say 3000MHz. Keep DOCP enabled when doing so

I have tried to run the 3000Mhz XMP profile, but it also uses 1.35V and does not post. Also what's DOCP?

Then you should try even lower frequencies like 2933. Would be really surprised if it cant do 1.35V even at super low frequencies like 2133MHz tho

 

DOCP is AMD's way of calling XMP because XMP is an Intel thing. Board vendors sometimes dont care though and call it XMP on AMD boards anyway

Yeah, its called XMP for me and do you think it could just be the ram maybe? I didn't buy this ram to run it at anything below 3200Mhz.

If you updated the chipset driver and BIOS and it wont work, yeah it sounds like RAM or maybe, this particular board doesnt like this particular memory kit (cuz Ryzen is one picky eater)
