streaming xbox from anywhere

I'm trying to connect to an xbox of a friend of mine in the US from India.  And I cant get it to stream  to my pc.

I setup static ip for the xbox and port forwarding and got the public ip and everything that I was suppose to setup or get done according to youtube tutorials.

I don't quite understand port forwarding to, should it be setup for my end or his or both?
