encoding

RAM, CPU, GPU, software used...

with my system, it takes around 2 hours for 20-25min video around for me if I'm not mistaken with Vegas Pro (I guess not much of rendering process as well, most of it are encoding). I'm pretty sure if the software use GPU for encoding as well instead of rendering only it probably could be faster...

Gadgets: Lenovo Y580 (Nostromo, Naga Epic, Hydra, TrackIr5), Surface Pro 3 (i3), Lumia 930, PSVita

Don't encode on the GPU please. The quality is pretty awful compared to what you get with CPU encoding. Oh and why it's so slow? Because it involves very very complicated math. The explanation is as easy as that. Even with very high end hardware it's still pretty slow.

If you got an Intel CPU with an iGPU and a motherboard that supports video out, or an Nvidia 600 or 700 series GPU then it might be possible to speed up the encoding time a lot without having that big of an impact on the video quality. How to do it depends on which software you are using.

Depends on the settings and quality your using really. Any idea of the fps your encoding at?

Thats more rendering than encoding I would think as your creating objects.

That's rendering 100 frames at 1080p and 2000 samples.

are you going to video and is it lossless if you your CPU or GPu is really only spending most of its processing on the rendering not the encoding.

I am Using Adobe Premiere

I don't think Premiere renders the final output with GPU assistance. All it uses the GPU for is rendering previews while working on a project.
