Internet and HDMI

Hello Everyone,

 

I'm trying to understand the technical relation between a network connection (with the ISP) and the physical connection of HDMI between a smart TV and its digital converter.

Let's say someone has an internet speed of 1Gbps and a smart TV + converter which both support HDMI 2.1, and of course a HDMI 2.1 cable, which can deliver a bandwidth of 48Gbps.

Won't the internet speed create a certain bottleneck over the TV transmission coming in? How do both bandwidths correlate with each other?

I feel like I'm just missing some small but crucial detail regarding that matter, and I was hoping to get some clarifications here.

There is no relation between the two.

 

HDMI only transmitts Video and Audio signals.

Internet bandwidth and HDMI bandwidth have absolutely nothing to do with each other.

 

All video is delivered in compressed form. Streaming usually maxes out at 25Mbps.

 

Your converter box takes this and uncompresses it before delivering it to your TV over HDMI.

the video you download / stream from the internet is compressed which then it will be decoded by your pc and transmitted to your tv.

it's 2 separate thing.
