OBS disables G-Sync and drops frames?

Hi. I am running on a 165hz g-sync compatible display (xv240y) and whenever I turn on OBS, it stops working. It also drops my frames by 40 or so from 160 capped to 110 to 120. I am running a 2070 Super OCed to 2010/7500 and am using the Nvenc encoder with my r5 1600. Neither have max utilization. OBS is running as an admin. I am also using rtx broadcast, but I dont think that that is the issue. The game is Natural Selection 2 which is fairly cpu bound if that helps, but OBS is using less than 5% of my CPU and has 0.1% dropped frames, so I dont think it is the CPU. My setting sare 1080p60 at 6000kbs.
