Can I use the windows 8 pro upgrade disc to do a fresh install ? And will upgrading from a windows 7 home premium to windows 8 greatly slow the computer ?

Upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 8 should have a positive impact on speed.

Your computer should be faster.

Im not entirely positive but I know for a fact that with the upgrade disk for 7 you can use it for a clean install if you have Vista or XP on your PC. I would assume that this would work with this upgrade disk if its anything like the 7 upgrade disk.

Current Rig:
Intel core i7-4790k, EVGA GTX 980 ACX 2.0, Sabertooth Z97 Mark 1, Corsair H100i, Kingston Hyperx Fury 16GB, Samsung 850 EVO 500GB, WD Red 3TB (RAID 1), Corsair RM750, NZXT HUE, Phanteks Enthoo Luxe.
