Hello, so i just got an ASUS P7H55 board with i5-670 CPU, i installed RAM 2x2 1333MHz and tried to Install Windows on Samsung 860 EVO SSD, so i booted up (it was kinda weird at this moment cuz it was so slow and the DRAM led was on for too long and everything was so slow) and somehow i got into the windows 10 install, i started it and in preparing files to installation i got freeze in 3% and I was wondering why, i found plenty of solutions but nothing helped, when i came to something that was new and could possibly help me, the pc was only slow, until then sometimes it was normally fast and sometimes just slow, and i cant get even into BIOS, and if I do i cant use keyboard, i was searching for the memory problem and i found that it could be faulty cpu, so i dismantled it and looked on the pins, on the one was some kinda dirt, so i tried to get it off with screwdiver which wasnt really helping and then cleaned with the tissue and alcohol, everything is the same, is it faulty CPU?

Since it's an old system, did you check for damage? Possibly bent pins or a missing capacitor? Also switching to one dimm of ram might help.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 11 and Fedora Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

The symptoms sound similar to my experiences with a bad motherboard, but unfortunately it could either firmware or hardware.

Updating the BIOS could potentially fix it, but in this case it's a little risky so save it for a last resort.

Well it's not impossible that the CPU is at fault. Ideally you would be able to check in another system but I doubt you'd have the hardware lying around.

Could you possibly try some other ram?

If you can find 1x4GB for cheap it's probably a good idea, I find that ram is a great thing to have spare on hand anyway.

Yeah it's slightly displaced, can't tell if it would be enough to harm functions but if you were able to bend it back into place it would be a good move

If you can zoom on it

It seems discolored a little, if it's dirt you could try very gently wiping it off with some isopropyl
